Multiple events Day in Chelsea

  • Sat, February 07, 2015
  • Chelsea, MI

Contact me for whichever of the portion of the day you'd like to join me for.  Diane Gledhill is the host for this event 734-368-5237 or diane82103@yahoo.com.  My plan is to do the Purple Rose play reading, eat some chocolate and the lantern ski in the evening.  Also probably walk around the Winter Carnival to see what there is to see.  I've included information on their wine tasting & dancing events, but probably won't attend those myself.

10:30 a.m.-1 p.m., CDL McKune Room, 221 S. Main, Chelsea. Free.
"Purple Rose Concert Reading": Chelsea District Library.
Purple Rose Theatre artistic director Guy Sanville directs Purple Rose actors in readings from new scripts being considered for production. Followed by a discussion with the audience.
Feb. 7: Conviction, Purple Rose resident artist Carey Crim's drama about the effects on a man and his family of an apparently unfounded claim by a troubled high school sophomore that the man undertook an inappropriate sexual relationship with her.
Tom Hodges is a charismatic, confident and caring teacher who students adore and parents admire. The smart, wise-cracking colleague with all the answers. The neighbor who takes care of the neighborhood. The perfect husband and father. But when a student accuses Tom of crossing a line, everything changes. This delicately balanced, beautifully nuanced new family drama digs deep beneath the surface of a happy suburban existence to explore the damage done when seeds of mistrust are planted. It asks the question, "How can we live with conviction when some questions cannot be answered." -

10 a.m.-5 p.m., downtown Chelsea. Free.
"6th Annual Chocolate Extravaganza": Chelsea Businesses.
Popular annual event during which more than 30 different businesses throughout Chelsea offer free chocolate tastings, sales on chocolate-themed merchandise, and family-oriented activities.

6pm - 8:30pm
