We have lost someone dear to us. Dennis Slough has died at his home in Salt Lake City. Aside from being a good friend to many of us, he held this club close to his heart and devoted much of his time to its success. He served as President, board member, website designer, Eblast (newsletter) creator, trip leader and (would love to be acknowledged as) club historian. He knew more about the characters who have graced our dance floor than most of us; maybe because he was always on the dance floor. Dennis was blessed with three daughters and four grandchildren and he loved them well. A memorial will be planned in Ann Arbor at a future date. Dennis's daughters have arranged for donations to be made in Dennis's memory to the National Park Service. His obituary may be found here. Rest in peace Dennis. You were loved.
* Ski Club policy is to NOT post obituaries about members in the newsletter, but only to post them on Facebook. The board has decided that, for Dennis, we should make an exception to this rule.

2024 Alpine Trip Planning
|
|
Hey members, your Alpine ski trip planning committee has been working on narrowing down destinations for 2024. We took a hard look at the membership votes on the big boards that Alan set up at the corn roast and other meetings. We mixed in some other sources, evaluated the outcome and compiled a list of destinations. Our regional list....
Colorado
- Aspen
- Steamboat
- Crested Butte
- Copper Mountain
Wyoming
Utah
- Alta
- Snowbird
- Snowbasin
- Deer Valley
Idaho
- Sun Valley
- Schwietzer Mountain
Europe - Lisa Salsibury trip leader
Do you want to help narrow the list or provide input on our destinations for 2024? Contact Jim Kelly about being a trip leader or Co-trip leader. Trip leaders have significant input on our destinations and it's a great way to give back to the club. We can only run trips when we have members step up and run them!

The Ann Arbor Ski Club has a mobile app. It runs on IOS and Android. Jeff Carpenter has written a nice piece on how to download the app. Members have reported problems with the app. An upgrade will correct the issue. You have to delete it from your phone, then reload.
