No Approved 2020-2021 Ski Trips...For Now
The BOD disapproved trips proposed by the Ski Trips Committee on the grounds that it was too great a risk at this time.
The Trip Planning Committee and BOD still hope to put together a Schuss Instructional trip, one to Terrace Inn, and one or more Out West.
They plan on revisiting the issue in August or September when we'll be closer to prospective travel dates. And, we'll be further along in the world's response to the Covid pandemic.

Ski Trip's are on hold until late Summer or early Fall. The September bike trip is on the calendar and taking applications. See below.
This trip IS open for sign-ups.
The trip leaders thank you for your understanding.
To get on the list click through to the event. Download, fill out, and send in your application with a check. The check will be held until closer to the event. If the bike trip happens your check will get cashed. If not, the check gets destroyed. It's the simplest procedure for these uncertain times.

A season pass to skiing was once something only a local could appreciate. Also, it was to only one mountain further limiting its appeal. But, now with individual lift-tickets going as high as $200 for a day pass and because of the advent of multi-mountain passes it’s a pretty good idea to give season passes a close look if you intend to ski next season. And, it's pretty good idea to do it now. Alan Osterdale has researched what a typical Southeast
Michigan member might like, narrowing down in each system a likely best package
and price. Need to learn more from Alan directly? He's available to answer questions and is even willing to lead a virtual discussion if there's enough interest. Also, if you find a mistake send the correction to Alan.

Why are we talking about this in June? Because there is still time to get in on an early-bird discount. Typically prices go up after July 1. Some are going up this week!!
But, what about Covid? What if they close resorts early like this past year? Or, there’s no season at all? These questions have been considered and largely answered by resorts offering season passes as well as the multi-mountain consortia. Most offer a guarantee in some form.
Be sure to follow links and drill into the details.

What's Up With That Picture?
A few readers asked. And, the click rate was high so presumably even more readers wondered. Behind me is the reflecting pool in front of the Mormon temple in downtown Salt Lake City. It's a regular stop on a regular walk. I think I have hundreds of pictures including an embarrassing number of selfies.

Nancy Marcotte would like to pass on to another member Meetup tasks as soon as possible. Would you take it on? Two possible routes are available; simply replicate events from our calendar into Meetup's calendar as we have in the past. Or, integrate an off-the-shelf software system with our Wild Apricot server automating the task while adding new features. This is a particularly easy time to get started since for the time being we aren't scheduling lots of events and we're likely to restart slowly.
